Hartke HL112 vs HD 112 - 8ohm only Opinions...

So I have a TC Electronics BG250 and have never really loved the sound quality of it.

I found a great deal on someone selling a brand new Hartke HL112 (their newest, lightweight speaker) for $250 (list $650). And after I bought it, I found out an acquaintance was selling his Hartke TX300 head + HD112 ($300 for both)... I opted to just buy the Tx300 off him since I just bought the HL112 (head only was $200), but when I went to pick it up, I realized that the HD has the option to switch between 4ohms and 8ohms, whereas for some reason the HL is only 8ohms.

I get it home and it sounds good, but definitely not as loud as my BG250, which I had planned to sell. Not that LOUD is ALL I want... I just didn't want to go quieter. Should I try to re-sell the HL and grab my friend's HD for $100? Would it really even sound that much different 4ohms vs 8ohms? I typically play with dads in the neighborhood and sometimes an outdoor gig with a PA. I'm not playing clubs or anything professional. What would you do?

IMHO a single 112 (or any speaker really) can only get so loud no matter how much wattage you throw at it. If it where me I'd add the second 112 for a full stack to get not only more volume but subjectively better tone with the coupling of the two 112 cabs. Just always remember and never forget to keep HD set to 8ohms when using the two cabs together.

Yeah I just reached out to ask if he'd honor his original price and let me grab the HD for $100 today. I really had no plans to ever own a "stack" again seeing as how little I play out... but I can always sell the one I don't want if I keep not using it.

What surprised me was playing them side by side with my old amp and how much noticeably louder the BG250 (also a 12") is.
