    Hi All,

I've recently purchased a Hartke Hydrive combo with the LH500 head and 4x10 Hydrive cab and wanted to run an idea past you guys on here as I'm sure you all have a lot more amp knowledge than me.

I was thinking of replacing the head with a LH1000 and then purchasing another 4x10 Hydrive cabinet to compliment it (read lots of posts about mixing 4x10's and 1x15's being not a good idea, hence the additional 4x10, been down the road with Trace Elliots and Ashdowns 4x10's and 1x15's so many times!).

The band I'm in play various sized venues so I'm thinking take the LH1000 loaded in the 4x10 cab for smaller sized venues and then add the extra cab for larger venues. Is this doable? I'm not so good with the ohms etc so would this work? Running the one 4x10 cab off the LH1000 is OK isn't as long as I don't go full volume? I'd hate to blow something up lol

Shoot me down if you think it's a lousy idea, I'm just putting it out there for some advice.

    All the best,

    Rich

the LH1000, being an amp you can buy separately from a combo, is one you can add cabs to, so long as they are the same impedance. now, the impedance of the 410 in the combo is, 4 ohms and...i'd say they can take a solid 700w RMS and stage/arena volume. so all you would then need to do is get a 410 hydrive with a 4 ohm impedance and you should be good to go. being a hartke user myself, ive had no complaints with the 410 hydrives ive used
