Hartke LH1000, I finally get it!

Had my LH1000 for near on 3 months, could never get a satisfactory tone out of it with my Eden 410xlt,
never had enough low mids or fat low end, bought a parametric eq and still wasn't totally satisfied.

Sold off the Eden and picked up a Genx Benz Neox 212T on clearance, WOW!

So this is what my amp is supposed to sound like! Fat, warm, any cliche' tone remark you can think of, it's there in spades.
The tone controls actually make sense now, goes to show you really do need to spend the time mating the right amp to the right cab, lesson learned.

Now to find another 212t to run side by side

Funny you mention as I just tried an LH1000 with 410xlt Sunday....didn't quite make me grin...though with the Hydrive 410 it sounds quite good to me.......

I wonder how it would sound with my Berg AE410..........

for best results, stack one on top of the other. you get better throw, you'll hear it properly instead of the mids and highs blowing past your ears, less chance of creating cancellation zones, etc.

I've not heard the AE410, here's a description from another thread involving that and the GB Uber 212:

Have you considered the Genz Benz Uber 212T or 410T cabs? I auditionned the Uber 212T and Berg AE410 with my Epi UL410 and ended up getting the Uber 212T. This cab is a very loud 212 (102db) with a lot of low mid punch and growl. The Uber 212 sat between the Epi and Berg, having tighter and more focused lows than the UL410 but a little bigger and burlier than the AE410. The Uber tone was not as mid scooped as the UL410 but didn't quite have the mid presence of the AE410. I didn't think a 212 could hang with a 410 but this cab surprized me. My testing was with a Shuttle Max 12.0 amp and Lakland 55-94D ash/maple bass. I walked in set on the Berg. The AE410 has a beautiful balance to it but the Uber 212T has a nice touch of old school grunt and just spoke to me. It sits very well in the mix between the kick drum and rhythm guitar with good punch and articulation. Nice thick bass and low mids but not boomy. I haven't had the chance to play the Uber 410T yet but understand it has a nicely balanced character like the AE410 but with a little more low end and not quite as much upper mid grind. The 212T weighs 63 lbs and the 410T is 72 lbs. Both cabs are 18" deep. Guitar Factory has an incredible deal on the GB410T right now of $650 shipped and it would slam with a CA9!

Good call, I need to do something with my rack case for the amp though, it doesn't sit quite right on top the cab and could easily slip off.

I have the LH500, which is pretty much the LH1000's little brother from what I understand. It's in a hydrive 210 Combo setup and I also have the Hydrive 410 Cabinet under it. I've been very pleased with this setup and would recommend it- I played a gig the other night and the bass player from the other band had nothing but good things to say about what he heard. Im pretty sure the hydrive cabinets were made with these amplifiers in mind.

Question regarding the hydrive 210 combo. Can the LH500 be removed and replaced with another head, such as the LH1000?
