Hi, ive found a pretty cheap one of these combos on ebay. Does anyone know what they sound like? How reliable? And how loud they are? Im running a fender aerodyne with a few effects. Also are they anugood for slap sounds? cheers
They use the 3500 head in them and in my opinion that head is the loudest 350 watt solid state head i have tried. I think you will be happy with that amp other than it might weigh alot. They have alot of EQ so you should be able to dial in the sound you want. I believe the internal speakers are a 4 ohm load so i dont think you will have the option of adding another cab to it is all. I think it should be a great bang for the buck amp.
If it's in good condition, it's a great amp. Lots of tone shaping ability and plenty of power from that 3500. I've never had an opportunity to hear the Hartke VX paper cone speakers, but I hear they pair up well with the Hartke amps, so you're looking at a nicely balanced combo there.
I just looked on ebay and the Hartke 5410C HyDrive combo is on there for about $50 cheaper. That is the one i would pick of the two unless you have found a used vx3500 for alot cheaper.
