Hey all...I have been on the hunt for a bag that hugs my bass, rather than the current bags like Gator, Mono, etc.
I was going to drop some coin on a Cronkhite bag, but 600$ plus will be my Christmas gift ) or at least I will tell the wife that in hopes she buys into the excuse.....she won't.) lol. But, I have and use a ProTec Contego, a RB Continental, and a custom Messina EB bag.
I tried a Gator ProGo, but the only one that I like that seems to protect my bass is the Contego. I've had a Probagg, Levy's (sadly discontined), Mono M80, iGig (fantastic but hard to use daily). The Contego is my current ride. Great bag, but the zippers are inconsistent, and I want a bag that is a "warm snuggle", but still protect it....enter this 400$ contraption.
So, I ordered a buffalo leather and canvas bag from Harvest. What intrigues me is that they put an actual plastic plate in the front and back of the bag to aid in impact protection, and the YKK zippers are a huge plus for me.
I teach at a school in the morning, then run off to a University to do lessons and ensembles, then off to another school to teach, then playing 4 nights a week. i need a Sherman Tank of a bag, and this one fits the bill. BUT, the only caveat is the weight. It's an 11 pound bag!!!! Eesh. I shoulda played the flute. LOL. It'll carry a variety of sticks...a couple Mucks, a few homebrew jazzes, R Bass, etc.
Here's the bag. Anyone else have one of the canvas and leather bags? can you use it as a "daily driver"? Ordered and shipped yesterday, here Tuesday.
