It's like any other collectors market. Rarity, and demand, along with how high someone is willing to spend determine the value. Rarity alone doesn't mean something old is going to fetch the high bucks. Ain't too many J-Basses of this vintage and color out there that I'm aware of, and I'm betting it's got the g.a.s. meter running high for a lot of folks. I know mine is running, but I also know I don't have that kind of discretionary income on hand at the moment.
