Has anyone tried the new MXR Micro Flanger M152 yet?

Any more news on the m152? I heard the clip of it on the Dunlop website and it sounds sick! I`ve been thinking of getting rid of my Small Stone for one of these since the whole phase thing really isn`t my bag.

Yeah! using one on my PT-Mini. It is really great. Adds a slight metallic sound but sounds GREAT with fuzz before.. if you like that kinda thing. By itself, it is nice and clean. Love it!

Modulation effects don't usually lose any low end. That's why bass specific mod effects are very rare, except for ones from companies that only make bass pedals like EBS

That's interesting that mxr is coming out with nano versions of their pedals. I wonder how the micro chorus sounds. I'll bet it sounds pretty cool.

Thread revival.

I'm dissatisfied with my flanger and was looking into this one because of it's small size and small price. Currently I'm using an EBS UniChorus (black label, non-true-bypass version). Not all that impressed with the tone and it occasionally overloads and distorts. EBS advertises the true-bypass versions having an additional 3 dB of headroom. Might be all I need is to upgrade to the latest version to fix my distortion issue. But I would like to explore other options.

So any more reviews of the M152 micro flanger?

^ this worries me as I will be using an active 5 string with high output. Has anyone else experienced distortion?

I might have been a little harsh on the Micro Flanger but I stand by what I wrote!
If you like one knob pedals that are plug and play the Mxr Micro Flanger is a great way to go. The M117R offers more tone options and 4 knobs to tweak.
Both of them are really nice flangers.

I since then tried the Fulltone Choralflange (the pedal does either flanger or chorus) and did not like as well as the MXR pedals.

Ya not big on Flangers but the MXR117R is dynamite if that's what you want. I used the EVH version. Bit of fuzz of distortion added and you have the whole 747 jet landing at your toe tips. Massively cool sound.

I have my old MXR M117 Flanger from the early 80's with the hard wired power cord.

It's still works and sounds great!

bought a M152.
Sounds really good. Compared it side by side with a Guyatone FL3. They both sound very similar, the M152 sounds slightly more raw and organic.

With the 'Regen' set above 3o'clock I could hear hints of distortion, musical distortion, like a warm overdrive fur. Setting 'Regen' to full clockwise and 'Rate' to full counter-clockwise to achieve robotic thru-zero sweeps there was noticeably more distortion. Still nothing like the overload clipping I experienced with the UniChorus.

Nice little flanger found a home on my board, it's a keeper for now, although the many great reviews and added versatility of the M117R makes me want to try that one too.

I quite like mine as well. Often, I'll use it to complement my CE-5 for thick swirly modulation, with the rate knob higher than 2 o'clock and regen below 11 o'clock.

Tremendous cut in the low frequencies (and boost in the high mids). Thin. Harsh. Metallic. Nearly unusable with a pick. Selling mine right now. I suspect they might have changed something in the circuit in the latest decade or so.
