Double Bass have a detachable neck upright bass, need flight case

I recently modified (well, my excellent luthier John Styklunas modified) my Kay bass to make it a detachable neck bass, and I'm now hoping to get a flight case that works for it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Hopefully inexpensive, lightweight, and well-made suggestions? Perhaps delivered by an honest politician riding a unicorn?

Seriously, though, someone mentioned getting in touch with a boat builder, anyone done that? Or have a better idea?

He made the prototype for me and the A.Schnitzer/ W. DiSola RN New Standard 'Time Zone' bass and which now has been on over 50+ flights and still going strong.

Made from simple corrugated plastic. Looks like corrugated cardboard box material, but outta plastic. He layers, folds and shapes cases outta this stuff and it's tuff as nails and DURABLE. When there's a small gash or scrape (which doesn't effect function at all anyway) you just put a heat gun to it and they disappear. Try that w/ expensive carbon-fiber/ kevlar!

I think mine would fit into a cab trunk but it's a tad smaller than the new design (for reg double bass) I think because the Time Zone bass has a shorter scroll and body which cuts down on length. On the other hand the new one seems to be less deep. 13" instead of 15" like mine.
