Double Bass Have any history about the Kay c-4?

Just trying to get some basic info about our Kay C-4 Bass. My husband who rarely plays DB these days loaned his instrument to his sister. (Both professionals) Instead of returning his -she gave him the Kay instead. Beautiful Blonde - but a bit beat up. I intend to get an appraisal - but any in or personal experience would be great.

My basic research turned up that there were only about 100 made prior to 1940. Perhaps that is why I can't turn up very much.

Thanks guys. I did visit kaybass.com which is where i got my initial info, but will try to contact Roger Stowers directly.

@drub - my husband can't remember - it was a plywood bass - probably 3/4. Nice sound though. She still uses it.

I will make an update if I get any more info!
