Double Bass Have QSC K12. Lighter K8 very appealing. Comments?

Jazz musician here. Using K12/ Fishman pre/underwood with my upright and digging it. I play small venues with a piano trio. Rarely play for more than 100 people at a time. Playing for fewer than 30 most of the time. I'd like to leave my K12 in the studio and start using the lighter K8. Anyone here upright with a K8? Love it? Hate it?

Why K8? Seems kind of silly to buy the K10 for gigging when I have two K12s in the studio. i'm 62 years old with a tweaky back. I really would like to lighten my load. If anyone would care to share a comment or suggestion with me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Well... I have a K10 and give it the thumbs up. Can't help with the K8.

I use a K8 with my Mirecourt DB, the Ehrlund EAP, and a Headway EDB-2 pre amp. For the size venue's you are performing in it should work fine. One drawback is that the K8
dispersions pattern is much wider, which may tend to feedback more than either the K10 or K12. It's a difference between 105 degrees and 75 degrees so you can't get as close to the side of the speaker. I've used it quite a bit for small venues, and as a monitor.

P.S. pound for pound the Genz Benz shuttle amps were great sounding DB
amps and very lightweight, the Shuttle 10T's come up from time to time used.
