I play a schecter c-4 with active emg hzs through a GK backline 600 through a hatrke 4x10 xl series cab and i just got a hold of a sansamp bass driver di. the problem is while playing my bass, even before the sansamp, there seems to be a buzzing sound coming from my amp especially when i play my low e string, which is right now tuned to drop C.

What's the position of the active bass's, bass control and eq controls on the amp.
My guess is you are looking for far more low frequency than realities got on a good day. Start flat or the 4 x10 wont do what you are asking even if your bass's onboard eq isn't clipping (which it probably is as you probably have that dime'd for a start off).

for the eq my treble, hi-mid, and bass are at about 1 o'clock my low mid is at about 11 o'clock.when ever i play i notice my clip light turns on. so basically you're saying start off at a lower volume?

That cab can't handle the low end of your bass (great low end and high output) and your amp (lotsa low end). What's the low end handling frequency of the cab and what's the hz of a low C? I don't think those speakers are able to handle it, even low E from a C-4. ...your bass is too good for that budget rig.

First thing to try is putting on the input pad.

What part of the circuit is the clip light refering to.
Is it the pre amp input or the power amp output.
Anyway its all about a ratio of gains put the bass guitars eq controls in its center idents and put a new battery in it.
OK I just read your manual you need to press the input gain reduction button to put the input clip light out.
Then follow the instructions about starting with no boost on anything
and then when you have a clean signal at the highest level the amp and cab will do without distortion or farting.
Try cutting or scooping to taste, the more you scoop the less you will
penetrate the mix.

PS the Sans amp should (if adjusted properly) not make your amp change apparent volume when you switch it in and out.

thanks for the help. i also just made my bass pickups 18v and that with my sansamp helped a lot.
