Head/Cab rig for 7-800euro???

howdy folks,

Sick of my current rig - Hartke 5210c + 1x15XLS no enough umph from the lows and tone just isnt suiting my needs anymore.

My problem is - Ireland... its terrible for good gear. one shop will have a nice head but crap cabs and vise versa. So Im turning to you guys for advice (any irish lads on here let me know if there are any shops im unaware of that dont rip you off!)

So im leaning towards a bottom heavy tone... rock/metal (acdc/pantera) but at the same time i love funk....(funkadelic/chic) so a 4X10 would probably suit better than anything else. Dont want a massive lump of a thing to be carrying around as well.

If I had 1500 id probably buy an ampeg svt 410hlf with a Markbass Little Mark Tube (think its that model that you can flip between tube preamp and solid state?)

Any recomendations on where to buy what to buy would be hugely appreciated!!

Shop used to stretch your budget. Hard to recommend gear on a local basis. Go play everything, something will catch your ear. Also, why not get a head at one store, and cab at another?

Side note on the LM. I would avoid the "tube" versions. They are vanity tubes, and are not user replaceable. Just a way to snag some of your money.

hay dude I'm bassist in Ireland and i feel your pain about the lack of anything as regards bass in shops . have you tried looking on adverts.ie its got lots of good stuff and there's lots of second hand stuff if your looking to save some cash
