Head watts VS Cab watts

Hey Bassers,

I am looking for a new head to run 2 separate 15" cabs (one of which is a DR Bass 1580). I had been using an Eden WT300, but it doesnt seem to have enough juice for me. The 1580 is a 400 watt cab, but most heads step up from 300 watts to OVER 400 watts. So how do I get a good head (lol) without blowing my cabs?

THANKS

The head isn't going to make very much difference. Doubling speaker area makes a lot more difference. But if you do decide to upgrade your head, just watch your volume and you'll be fine. Man, you must play really loud to need more than a 215 rig.

Last time I blew A speaker it went without warning. I don't play loud but my setup was not enough for an outside gig. Last time I played outside I had a GK backline 600 and an avatar b212 and I had plenty of volume to spare.
