Hi, I just bought a Mach I headless bass (Still waiting for UPS to deliver it) and can't find any information on it.. who made them, when, any specs, pickups, etc..

From the pics it looks like the neck might be thicker than other Steinberger clones I've see pictures of..

Anyone have one and would like to share info?

TIA

They’re fine. I’ve got what was a Cort that I made new body wings for. If yours is the same it’s all maple, neck through. It looks like the bridge and headpiece are complete. I had to fiddle with strap button placement on mine after I made the new body. It hangs a bit to the left so the neck seems longer then it’s 34” scale but I get used to it pretty quick. You’ll have to get an adapter or use double ball end strings but there are still a few string options out there.

Thanks for all the input and information. My bass got here a couple days ago. So far I'm liking it..
It's in "original" condition.. meaning the pups potts were very stiff, strings were oxidized, pup posts are slightly rusted. Tone on the higher strings was weaker compared to the lower end. Paint is great on it, so I got that going for me..

Cleaned it up with some contact cleaner, helped the potts and pups sound better. New flatwounds and adapter are on the way.

Gonna play it for a bit and see it I can get the cobwebs out of the pups.. if not, I see new PJ's in the future.

I do like the size, I intend to use it when I travel as my practice bass. I'm just an amateur wanta be player, so no gigging to worry about for me.
