Headphone amp: NUX Mighty Pro Vs Fender Mustang Micro Plus

I need a headphone amp to practice. With the Boss Katana Go discontinued, the NUX Mighty Pro Vs Fender Mustang Micro Plus seem like the best two picks. However, I can't find any first-hand comparisons made by bassists. The Mustang Micro Plus is lighter (54g) compared to the Mighty Pro (70g) and also has an on-screen tuner). But it does like it's effects are all designed with guitarists in mind. I've also heard that the NUX app is slightly better designed compared to Fender's, which only works in landscape.

Does anyone have experience with both and can comment on any other pros/cons from a bassist's prospective?

I've only used the NUX Mighty Plug Pro and I love it. The default presets are designed for guitars, so they sound pretty bad with bass. I found the most important setting to change is the IR effect — you need to choose one of the bass cabs towards the end. I also like that I can play music through the mighty plug through either Bluetooth from my phone or a USB cable to my computer. It also has 7 preset slots, so each of my basses has their own clean and dirty preset. The app has a tuner and a drum machine. I wouldn't worry about the weight as it's so light that it's negligible.

Not the biggest Fender fan but I'd go with the new Mustang Micro Plus without a moment's hesitation...and I already own a Katana Go 𝘢𝘯𝘥 a Waza-Air-B.
Bought the old version and it was pretty good but I gave it to a guitarist I know after I bought the Katana Go.

I liked the Katana Go much better, easy to use and more bass options compared to the old Mustang Micro.
I would like to try the new Micro, though.
I definitely prefer it over the Nux Mighty Pro, but that's partially based on what I've read about both.

I love my Mighty Pro, in fact the more I use it the more I like it… however, it suffers from the same problem as my NUX MG-30! Sometimes, some combinations are created that produce an extremely high pitched and loud sound all of a sudden… for example “this amp + that IR”, now I do all the changes with the headphones on my neck

But I don't know if devices from other brands suffer from the same problem!

I only have passive basses.

What did you end up getting? I am debating the same thing. I have an old irig HD2, but these new things sound even easier.

I managed to get Boss Katana Go from the US. If you know anyone who lives in Michigan, try Marshal Music. They might have some left, but only ship to Michigan.

I ended up just packing my focusrite Scarlett for this trip — i forgot how much smaller it is than my stomp xl so might as well just bring it!

Only have one Nu-X product, a looper. It's been fantastic for my needs. But I practice guitar and bass through my Mustang Micro almost every day. I got one of the first batch at GC and it's still ticking. It has some really good sound patches.

The NUX uses an app where you select amps, cabs, pedals, the app has a “tab” where you will find a drum machine and other with a tuner, which you can actually use because it's not a tiny screen plugged into the back of your instrument
