Headphones for amp(s)

I play through an SVT-350 solid state with a matching 410 hen. That's in a practice space, so now im playing through a fender m-80 combo. I'm moving into a studio apartment here in a week and I don't want to offend the neighb's so I was wondering if there's any way to hook up some headphones through the amp. Like, some sort of attenuator orrrrr....something?

Doesn't look like your amp is set up for any sort of headphone action. Trying to jury-rig something from the speaker-outs is a recipe for ruined phones.

Your best bet would be to get yourself a micro-mixer that accepts an XLR input, and take it off the amp's line out. Those can generally be had for well under $100, and give you the option of mixing in music to play along with.

Sending the 1/4" effects-out into a mixer/headphone amp might be an option too, but according to the amp's manual, it's situated after the master volume, so there's no telling what kind of output level you'd be dealing with.

So something like this? Is it really that simple?

I keep one of these in my bass case at all times. It doesn't sound fabulous, but it does the job, and has a mini-jack in from a phone or MP3 player so you can play along to backing tracks and learn tunes.

If you just want to practice with an MP3 player or computer a simple two channel micro mixer will do the job handily. They can be picked up for around $40-60.

I use the Tascam CD trainer but never use the CD section. It's just a headphone amp. Doing it over, I would have gone for the little mixer.
