Headstock Logo for SoundGear basses

I am in the process of refinishing an old SR-505 bass and am going to have a color matched headstock on it. In the process of laminating a colored veneer stained to match the body, I will be covering up the original headstock logo, and don't really want to do that!

Searching eBay I located just about every headstock logo out there, including for Ibanez guitars of all kinds, but NOTHING for the SoundGear basses!

Does anybody know of a source for either an original or reproduction logo sticker or water-slide decal that could be purchased?

Thanks in advance for any assistance as eBay and Google have not been my friend! I may be searching for something that doesn't exist, but I feel I should at least try.

Nothing. I did e-mail the shop owner referenced above to see if he could do one from my own JPG file, but since everything he advertises is for Gibson, and in the Gibson font, and hand-painted (the SoundGear logo is too small to hand-paint), I find it highly unlikely he'll be able to make it. Will see what he says though... I may be surprised!

I also e-mailed my contact at Hoshina USA, importers of the Ibanez and SoundGear instruments to see if they can help. They got replacement bridges for me quickly under warranty when both of mine broke!

He made me decals for my Roadstar RB850. Can be a bit slow, but this time it took only two days. He is in Finland so shipping to USA takes some time.

What color ink do you need printed?

If you’re doing white, I don’t have any suggestions. You need a special printer for that.

If it’s just a matter of getting a file that you can print black ink onto water slide decal paper yourself, I’d just take a photo of the logo and send it to IgnitionDrawing.com. I use them all the time through my work for reproducing logos and stuff. $15, 24 hr turnaround. Can’t beat it.

I was going to use the fella mentioned above by MPU, but after a little experimentation this morning, I discovered that the large letters are actually thin aluminum (or maybe steel) and I was able to lift them off with an X-Acto knife without damage or distortion. I pulled all the pieces and stuck them to a piece of waxed paper and set aside for reuse, and they should work just fine!

The only thing I'm losing, and I'm not too worried about it, is the superfine print under the logo that says "by Ibanez" as it is white silkscreen or something similar!
