Heavy top, Light bottom.

Hey guys and gals. I decided that I wanted to get a custom string set (Rotosound Swing 66 SS) from Bass Strings Online because I don't like how light the regular D and G strings are, but if I get a heavier string set, the E and A are too heavy. So I think I wanna get .060 .075 .080 .090, but I don't know if the G will snap or stretch when tuning to pitch. I think the D will be fine because the Rotosound RS66LE D string is only .070... Except the G is .050. Has anyone tried a .060 tuned to G? Thanks.

Wow that would be a totally unbalanced, quite unplayable set of strings! You'd have 2 strings that will be so tight that they will probably break, a normal A string, and a floppy E string. Those D and G strings won't work, they will be around 70 lbs. of tension each!

.50 .70 .80 .100 would be normal if you want light top/heavy bottom. I guess you can try a .90 but I wouldn't go less than .95

The great thing about Bass Strings Online is that you can buy singles cheap, so just get some of each. But no....60 and 75 are not G and D strings.

K thanks. What about .055 for G?
