Hello Bassists!

I'm proud to be a member of the TalkBass community.

I'm learning a great deal, especially on the DB side regarding historic basses and their restoration. Gives me high-octane G.A.S!

One of my fondest memories of being a bassist was filling in for a local big band not to long ago. I was playing in the pit band in a review with a WWII 1940's theme.
The big band was to play during intermission. Turns out their bassist could'nt make it. They threw the book at me and said, "Play!".
I was in 7th heaven pumping away on DB with no amp just like they did back then, pretending we were being broadcast live. My fingers were a few millimeters shorter for the 2nd half of the show but it was well worth the ride!

I hope to gain enough smarts & wisdom to provide some constructive input here on TB someday. Meanwhile, I'll continue learning!

Regards,

Dave
