Hello, Everybody!

I'm glad to have found this place! There seems to be a lot of great information and fun to be had here! I am a novice bassist although I have been a professional trombonist for nearly 25 years. When I was a kid, I asked my older brother, "What's making that those cool low sounds?" when I heard Elton John's "Rocket Man." That was the first time I ever heard the phrase "electric bass." Well, I hope to never hear "Rocket Man" again, but I have loved the bass ever since. I was lucky enough to see Jaco three times when he was with Weather Report and that sealed it. I finally (I'm 45+ years old) bought a Fender Squier starter kit two years ago and decided to give the bass a whirl. I happily got rid of my imitation Fender and replaced it with a used Peavey Cirrus 4 a few months ago. I'm not any good, but I love playing it!
