I am a VST Software developer and have joined this forum to hopefully get some input from you all. We have made many guitar amp sims, but have yet to make a good bass amp sim. We have made one but was really not that good. So, I am here to gain some insight into the types of things that bass players look for. I really don't know I personally am a guitarist, and as similar as the two worlds may appear they are not.
I would like to give you a little background before I go any further as it will segway into my main question. We have developed a series of Hybrid classic amps, they are a series of mix and match components from different amps. For example we take a Marshall JCM Gain section pair that with an Orange power section and add a Hiwatt tone stack. So far the results have been very well received. So now we want to do the same thing with bass amps. So if you can think of any classic bass amps that need to be included, please let us know. I'll make sure that I release these for fee here at this forum for you to try..
In the meantime, if you want to try a bad attempt at a bass amp, BIG is available from our website for free. I don't know if I am allowed to place the URL here, probably not, so I won't..But I look forward to hearing all your thoughts and hopefully if all gfoes well we can build some great bass sims. Bass is such an under-served area...
