Hiya, I'm "Jacobaeus" and I'm just saying hi to everyone from lovely Victoria, British Columbia, Canada! I'm a litigation paralegal, chorister, and former amateur jazz and orchestra trombonist. Due to an injury I can no longer play my beloved trombones so I've recently made the switch to electric bass so I can continue to represent the low end! I'm borrowing a friend's Squier VM jazz while waiting to purchase my very first bass.

That's me in a nutshell! Again, hi!

That's my hometown! Grew up on Sproat Lake in the summers.

I used to love watching the old WWII flying boats converted to firefighting planes up there- they would skim across the lake drinking up the water into their bellies, then take off to dump that red jelly stuff!! Cool times-
I remember seeing “Silent Running” at the drive-in theatre there in like, 1973!!

Yeah, the Martin Mars are cool. I think they're doing to only one now but I think Coulson lost all the contracts for their use due to the extreme cost of their operation (despite their proven brutal effectiveness at attacking fires).

Thank you for the welcome! I figure playing trombone charts will help my transition to bass/help me learn how to use the bass as a melodic instrument. Do you find that at all?

Absolutely. I also learn lead vocals parts on bass to help keep me focused on melody.
