Hello all. I've been playing bass since 1976. Kind of picked it up by accident when I was 13. It all started with a black Fender Jazz bass copy I started goofing with at a music store...the mighty Cortez brand. 
Wonder if they even still exist.
I mainly play rock, metal and blues. I took a hiatus from bass for the last six years as I finally got a drum set in 2005. I spend a lot of time at the vdrums forum.
In the last few weeks, though, I rediscovered how much I enjoyed playing bass and the love affair has started all over again. Good to see a forum dedicated to the bass.
My equipment:
1978 Kramer 650B - had that bass since I was 15. It is still my favorite bass to this day.

2002 Peavey Millenium BXP 5-string
Peavey Firebass 700 amp with 410 cabinet
I just bought an Epiphone Thunderbird Silverburst. It comes tomorrow. Can't wait.
