I just registered to get some more info on double basses as I recently axquired one.
Am playing bass guitar since about 1986, started taking upright bass lessons and playing in a symphony orchestra around 1990, and then quit the orchestra and started playing in bands locally around 1995.
Had some great fun doing a few tours to southern Europe and the Chicago area, but never really had a regular gig, or been in a band for longer than 3 years... ;-)
I hope to find some more info on double basses, and probably can contribute a little tiny bit on bass guitars.
