Hello from Poland, I have been playing guitar for over 20 years, I have 14 electric guitars, many tube amplifiers. For several months I started learning to play bass, the beginnings hurt I currently have Ibanez sgr190bk, Harley Benton 414rb, Cort gb74opn. Best wishes

when my fingers hurt, I catch the thresholds with two fingers and exercise with the ankle.

Get TI Flats. Never change them. Ever.

Easy on the fingers.

And… they respond huge to a light touch! Win win!

Tips:

Don’t stretch them like other strings. You will ruin them apparently.

A drop of super glue at top of thread before installing will help preserve it.

You also have GAS. Get them while can. After retirement fixed income takes care of the GAS problem.
