Just joined after coming across this forum while searching the internet for bass amp heads. I started playing bass in 1989. Had a serious band from 96 to 99. After that I just stopped playing. My amp cabinets and bass have been sitting in a storage room or attic over the various houses I moved in and out of for close to 24 years now. I think I might have plugged in 3 or 4 times very briefly over that time.
That’s because my son heard me talking how I played bass and played in a band and became very curious. So I took it out and showed him. Other than that, nothing. Don’t really know why. He was taking a music class at school a few weeks ago and has an interest in playing guitar. Wife let him get my bass and amp while I was not home. Not sure if it’s just coincidence or something happened, but my head no longer works. He had gotten my 4x10 cabinet and my 1x15 cabinet and not sure what wires went where when he was plugging things in. Speaker light turns on but no power light. Assuming the transformer is shot. Bought it in 1996 so guess I can’t complain. Just a cheap SWR workingman’s 300. Weird because I’ve never had an issue with it until he got it out 2 weeks ago.
At any rate, I started looking at new heads and kind of want to get back into playing after all these years. Figured I’d come here to get started and ask some questions in another thread.
