Help,, Can I just use this? ( Tapewound a string is untied )

Help,, Can I just use this?
It happened today during the bass guitar setup..
This is a new string.
The tape is loose over the nut. (The fingerboard side under the nut was not loosened.)
But there is no problem with the sound and tuning.

Short answer: yes. Use it. When it breaks, temporarily put a 50 or 55 on the bass as a temp D string.

Long answer: contact D'Addario and see if it is a manufacturing flaw that they will send you another string.
