Help Choosing New Hardware

I'm Looking Into getting New Pickups for my Epiphone Les Paul Special Bass. Right now its got the factory 442R alnico humbucker Pickups. What should i get that will supply the most bang for the buck. (I'm not a wealth man)

Well, the most bang for the buck is to keep the original ones.

Where do you want the sound to go 'to' & 'from'? Have you tried different strings?

ya I've got different strings Ernie ball Super Slinkies and sounds great but the quality of the sound has dropped and i've been getting feedback its not the strings and its not the amp because I've played other basses on my amp recently and it sounded great.

I play with a funk/slap sound.

I would look into EMG pickups, they run close to 80 bucks a pop depending on which ones you go for - but in the long run it is worth it. I would also recommend upgrading the bridge. I dug mine out just recently and plan on doing some mods to it.
