Alright. I own an Alvarez RB30C Acoustic/ Electric bass and I went to purchase some new string for it today and the guitar shop only one set of Acoustic bass strings (Martin SP). I brought them home and started to change them out only to find that the Martins were too short for the neck. I bought the guitar from a friend of a friend and thus have no idea what style strings were on it originally. Any advice on which set of strings will work on this guitar? Thanks.

Check to make sure you didn't buy a set for a short scale bass. I checked just strings and they didn't list the scale length on the SP strings but the Martin A/E basses are 34" scale. MF didn't list the scale of the Alvarez bass.
I have one of these on the way and was wondering the same thing.
Going to try some EB Earthtones. I think that these basses are “short scale” (~32”)
ps-I cant seem to find a manual or brochure on this model anywhere!
