:help: Fretting Hand (Indepedence)

Put you fingers on the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th frets of the E string. Keeping your index and middle fingers down on the 5th and 6th frets, alternate fretting the 7th and 8th with your ring and pinkie. Move all four fingers down to the A string and repeat. Repeat on all strings. Do it slowly at first and aim for long clear notes. It can be hard at first. This will help to strengthen the ring and pinkie. Later you can alternate 1234, 2134, 3124 and so on ( 1= 1st finger etc) on each string. Dont do this on the lower frets, because the stretch can be too much for a lot of people.
