HELP: from ukulele to bass

Hello from Selangor! Have you tried any of these basses? Went to Woh Fatt in KL and had the Höfner in hand, price-wise, but I'm broke all the time.

Penang person here. Never been to Woh Fatt, but always wanted to. Always wanted to play a Hofner too. If I were you, I'd get it. These Hofners get a lot of love on here and they seem to be bang for the buck. How much they going for here?

You really should go there someday. Instruments stacked everywhere within this small store! As for the bass, they have the Contemporary and also the Ignition. Starting price for Ignition is RM800+, I can't really remember but the Contemporary starts at RM2150 if I'm not mistaken. After I talked with the staff there, they gave me an interesting price of RM1800 for the Contemporary. You can always haggle in Woh Fatt! Oh anyway I went to Penang recently for ukulele store in Quay Street, the Manuel Ukulele. They do have brands of ukulele to choose from, just so you know

I'm not really a uke person. My arms are so long its not funny.
Anyway, for short scale basses, have you checked out the Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar SS? As with the Hofners, they get a lot of love. Plus, they can be pretty dirt cheap and there are a ton of options you can get. Not sure if that last sentence applies for Malaysia.
