Help, Glockenklang Preamp Issue

jzbass6

One Nation Under A Groove
Looking for help, I installed Glock pre but it only seems to work in the passive mode. I wired it properly using included diagram, my question is the output jk wiring. I wired the blk battery lead to the ring, the output lead of the volume module to the tip and the ground lead of the volume module to the center ground terminal of the stereo 1/4" jack., is this correct? I don't want to take the chance of blowing something up.
Thanks

Right off hand I don't know if it's wrong. I installed a Glock pre in my Warrior a few months ago and I had a question about the passive mode and I emailed Glockenklang in Germany and they responded very fast. Here's their address:

They were very helpful.

You should give it a shot.

I did but i've yet to hear back from them, I resent the emal again today.
Thanks

It could be an issue with the preamp. Shiveringbass got one that had a bad pot and would only work in the passive mode. When he tried pressing or wiggling the pots it would work. Call Brandt at the perfect bass and see if he can exchange it out for a new one.

Hi,
one point :

Check if it works before you close the cavity, is it? and then is it the same when you have closed?

I had a similar issue. After a while I realised that the bass unit had not enough room in the cavity, so there was contact with the shielding. I put paper round but it was the same, so I put the bass unit at the largest place of the cavity, and I cut all the tops of the pointy nails soldered on the card. Then it was ok for me!

Crash, I decided to turn it over to the professionals it should be back in a week, I'll see what the deal is then.
