OK not really an input problem, but when I tap my bass a certain way, I get a pop sound- almost like pulling my cable out while its plugged in. Ive routed it to the bass itself, tried different cables (my cable is a new planet waves cable with the mute button) but its the bass itself. Think maybe something is loose inside, because it does this randomly, even when I move around. Not cool. Thanks for any help

HELP! Ibanez bass input connection problems

Could be a loose wire but it sounds like the problem I had with my Fender Jaguar Bass. On my Jaguar, the battery compartment has two metal tabs that make contact with the terminals on the 9V battery. When I got the bass, the tabs didn't press against the battery with enough force and the battery kept getting disconnected. I bent the tabs so they made stronger contact with the battery and never had a problem again.
Wow you are awesome. It was the battery moving around that caused the clicking. The foam that holds the battery snug was smushed up and useless. I fixed it
