HELP! Identify MIJ bass

I've been searching for a few days and can't find anything close. I think the body has been painted white. The neck plate states"made in japan" I can't find any basses with that type of pickup either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

looking at the sqared off heel and metal truss rod cover, its identical to a Crestline P-bass,single coil I owned once.

Thanks for the replies. I figured it was a long shot. I haven't seen the bass in person, but if the neck is straight and the body isn't plywood, I'll probably take it. Thanks again

from my long time in a used music shop, looks a lot like a Hondo. hard to tell without a closeup of the headstock. there's another brand too, cervante or something....something spanish sounding with a c. could be that.
