This will sound funny... but a lot of the basses marketed as 'metal' basses sound far better in a worship setting than a metal one. Schecter, Ibanez, ESP, and others with dual active soap bars are not only incredible brands for the price, but the soap bars provide that clean modern hi-fi tone. Lots of clarity in the top and bottom, a bit mellow in the mid range. These brands also tend to play very well... just something to consider.

I'm almost convinced to get a Schecter, does anyone have recommendations on a good one? The stilettos seem nice, I think I also like the Diamond-P. Since I am quite familiar with Schecters I don't know the difference between their models that includes the studio and extreme series.
