Double Bass Help me find parts for this endpin please!

Hello there! I removed the endpin from the assembly for transport purposes and lost what I believe was a white plastic sheath with nubs that fit into the notches on the black ring in the photo.

I thought I bought it from Upton but they have no info on it. Any suggestions/thoughts?

If that sheath was a lining, then you'll need to replace it with some material of the same thickness. What's the difference between the pin diameter and the bore? If not much, you could easily make a lining out of some plastic notebook cover or something like that. Leave a slot for the screw and glue it in place.

I have the same endpin assembly. It looks just like your photo (no white plastic sheath - don't think I ever had one). There is a small circular piece of metal that fits inside the collar that prevents the thumb screw from damaging the endpin itself, and that part is easy to misplace... Not sure if that was at all helpful, but it's all I've got. Good luck!

Is the rod wood or metal? I had the one bassmanbrent describes with a wood pin, and yes, there was an aluminum disc with a curved surface one one side which if gets lost, then you are in trouble. I'm not sure this is the same thing though.

Sorry. I thought I had parts for you but I can’t find anything. IIRC, the part is approximately 5mm in diameter and 2-3mm thick, made of brass.

Thats what you are looking for. I´m sure it´s easy to make such a disc from a solid brass tube. Measured in mm!

Note: when trying to place the disc turn it the wrong way, with the carved surface looking at the screw. It will turn by it´s self when it falls into it´s bed.

Thanks all --- my bass magician Matt Bohn fixed it -- not with the missing plastic ring but with a small inserted metal disc --- it works and I'll be sure not to lose the pieces again....
