Help me finish my shoegaze pedalboard!

So, I have almost filled up all the space on my PT-2 pedalboard and I'm having trouble deciding what the last spot should be. So far my board is as follows:

tuner > EHX POG2 > Digitech Bass Whammy > Fuzzrocious Demon > Fuzzrocious Rat Tail > Fuzzrocious Grey Stache > Wattson EFY-6 > Tech 21 VT > Boss CE-5 > Boss RV-3

As you can see, I have an octave, pitch shifter, various dirt, preamp, chorus, and reverb/delay. My needs for those kind of effects are pretty much met but I'd still like to add at least one more pedal of some kind. So, what else does the talkbass community think I would need to round out my pedalboard? I'm open to any ideas but I'm not really wanting to replace anything currently on board. I was thinking about a tremolo pedal of some kind (maybe the Guyatone VT-X) or possibly something crazy like a DOD Meat Box (or other sub pedal)...but then again I always like dirt, so anything different as far as dirt goes would be cool. Hmm hadn't thought about a phaser. I have a Boss BF-2 flanger that I don't use because it seemed to cover similar territory to my chorus. I know phasers and flangers are different but I still lump em together in my head. Do you guys think the phaser would sound varied enough from a chorus to warrant having both?

Without question a real delay

The FRV-1 is a decent enough reverb but seriously get a Moog MF-delay mini-fooger. I would recommend it with the expression pedal. awesome setup!

Admittedly I do love my MXR script phase 90 hand wired.

I actually have a DD-3 that I'm not currently using because I can get really close sound out of my RV-3 for what I was using the DD-3 for. Maybe I should just set it up the DD-3 differently and call it a day. I'm also going to look at phasers now. Does everybody like the Phase 90? Keep em comin'.

Yeah, but if you have a flanger, you could probably get a good enough phase sound with it. You can get flangers and choruses to sound a little similar, but do slower and deeper sweeps with the flanger and it sounds less like a chorus.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Im probably going to bust out my flanger and see what I can do with that before I commit to a phaser. I'm also considering an envelop filter, maybe the MXR one. Does anybody have any experience combing envelop filters with dirt? I'm not really sure an envelop filter would be the best effect given the genre (I usually associate them with funky stuff), but I figured it would definitely be a different sound and might be cool with massive amounts of distortion. Any thoughts on this? I'm also thinking about a synth pedal, so chime in on that as well. Thanks once again!

With all Ryan's dirt pedals, I think you are good. I'd run BF-2 and DD-3 and see what you can do with them. Delay and more delay. Envelope, no. Not for shoegaze. I barely use mine for my stoner band and whammy is more of a controller for feedback looper. I can't hear what you got going, but what do you feel you need? Is there a certain sound in your head? Adding a pedal just to add, seems less efficient if it's not adding utility.

But yeah, what noise is in your head?

A fellow shoegazer myself I have yet to have enough GAS for an env filter. I might get one one day but it isn't high on the priority list. The only way I would use it is as you described. With lots of fuzz or distortion. Just add a little wetness with it for a beefy synth fuzzy thing.

I figured the envelope would be a no, I just wanted to run it past talkbass anyways. As far as the sound in my head, I'm actually really happy with what I got going on right now. I'm really just looking to fill up the last bit of space on my board, because why the heck not? I'm not really expecting to find an effect that I will really truly need, but something fun that fits the genre would be nice.

Well you can never have too much delay or reverb in shoegaze but if you feel you have those bases covered. Phaser and tremolo would be my next choices. I think you would find uses for them real quick. Plus they are both fun. More fun than an envelope for me. I actually use my trem more than my phaser though.

Also, I'm still leaning towards a sub pedal like the Meat Box just for the physicality of it. I've never used one before but my band is really loud (we aspire to create a sonic landscape that falls somewhere in between My Bloody Valentine meets Swans) and I play through a big cab (Mesa 4x12) so I think a sub pedal could work with my setup. Anyone have experience with sub pedals in this genre?

I tune so low, it was practically useless. Tracked horribly, and sounded like mud. I was using a digitech bass synth and not a standalone octave pedal. I personally think the meat box is hyped up right now and if I was to consider an octave again, it would be hard to not give a serious look at the Octamizer(sp?) from Aguilar.

I have been looking at it, even with the sour taste left by the digitech. Sadly, I'm broke almost always.
