Yeah you got it all backwards. It'll never work like that. You gotta flip those things around so the top part faces back ways and the flat part is towards the top.

Make sure all your cables are the exact same length so that everything is phase aligned. That may solve all your problems with the invisible stuff.

Bass goes into input plug...the speaker out on the amp goes into the plug on the speaker cab simple right?

Make sure speaker is not upside down or else you cant hear it.
