I appreciate your help to choose a new bass cabinet.
I own two amps. An old GK 400RB (yes, the old one, first model) with a GK 210T cabinet (2x10", 165W @ 8 Ohms) and a Roland DB 500 Combo (160W , built in chorus and compressor, tube emulation, COSM Technology, FFP , etc.).
I need space. So, I decided to sell my gear and buy a new rig (brand new, sounding bigger).
I live in Brazil and good gear is hard to find and expensive here.
A friend is coming from Canada and I asked him to bring me a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 head (375W @ 8 ohms/ 600w @ 4 ohms).
So, I´ll need a cabinet to use with it. Something like the same size of my Roland DB 500.
Something that is portable (not too heavy) and that gives me a good articulated sound (with good lows too).
I prefer the definition/articulation of 10" speakers than a 15". I think the 15" put some needed and wanted "pressure" and weight on the sound, but it tends to sound "muddy".
The perfect set to me is a 4 x 10" + 1 x 15" (definition + pressure) but it is too big.
I´m afraid that a 1 x 10" cabinet could sound "thin" and not give me enough lows when I´m using my StingRay 5 HH (playing B string notes).
So, I think that my choice will be a 1 x 12". I think it will give some good "pressure" and lows, with the definition. And still being portable, even more if it uses Neodymium speakers.
I play rock and blues most of the time. Almost no slap playing, usually fingerstyle playing.
So, here are my choices :
1 - Aguilar GS112 300W @ 8 ohms frequency response 42 to 16kHz
2 - Genz Benz STL-12T 300W @ 8 ohms frequency response 45 to 18kHz
3 - Bergantino AE112 300W @ 8 Ohms frequency response 40 to 18khz
All of them are similar in size, configuration (1x12" + horn tweeter) , power , weight, frequency responses and prices (Bergantino is a little more expensive).
Which one do you choose , and why ?
All of them will be a good pair to the Shuttle 6.0 ?
