Help me to identify this Ibanez, please.

Hello to all!

First I introduce myself. I'm a newcomer to this forum and my name Nightfall, I play some instruments of self-taught and I've played in some bands.

I'm here because I want to ask for your help to identify an Ibanez bass which I could not find any information, it has some features that I have not been able to identify and I turn to you for that reason, I hope you can help me.

This bass will be bought about 13 or 14 years and think it's an SR 405 although I don't know, I don't know what pickups are installed, not if they are a Bartolini, DX Series or EMG passive, It's so hard for me to identify them because they have no brand, and also the pickups are secured by 4 screws (instead of 2 as they have the EMG or Bartolini), on the internet I haven't seen any Ibanez with those characteristics. It also draws attention to me instead of 4 buttons or 5 (or more) which usually have the Ibanez, this only has 3. No part of the bass has been replaced, are all original.

All I know, by the serial number, is that this bass was built in the Samick plant in Korea in December 1994.

A closer picture of the serial code, or number on the back of the headstock, may help. Sorry I can't give any other input

Looks like a mid 90's SR405. Stock Ibanez pickups. I believe that model was passive back then,

Any more information about the pickups? I need to know what pickups they are.

I had a buddy of mine pay around $175.00 too much for one of their Soundgear models at a pawn shop. I agree, he should've done a little more research, but still, it should be plainly advertised what each model in a line is.

Be EXTREMELY careful if you do this. I chipped the paint on my Yamaha BB424 pulling out the neck because it seemed like it was shimmed from the previous owner (which it wasn't )

I do agree. All of my basses have the model numbers on them (I don't own an Ibanez). My ESP/LTD has it inlayed on the 12th fret marker, my Yamaha has it on the back of the headstock, and my Peavey shows it on the front of the headstock.

I've owned several 80'-90's Ibanez basses (mostly SR800's), and they all had the model # on a sticker on the back of the headstock. Those stickers held on fine. I only had one or two low-end models, though. I imagine people were more interested in removing the stickers on those basses. Anyway, I think Ibanez did away with decals over a decade ago, so get angry if you want, but it's useless as the situation has been addressed long ago.

I owned a mid 90's SR505 (active model) and the model number was right on the top of the back of the headstock. Is there nothing there? Can you post a closeup of the back of the headstock. I'm pretty positive it's a SR405 which was a passive model back then. The pickups were stock Ibanez pickups. Not aftermarket pickups.

Well, it don't really matter now. As I've moved up to necks the size of those HUGE kindergarten pencils, as opposed to the regular, adult-size (smaller diameter) pencils.......
