Help me with my new rig? Please :)

As others have said, avoid using band money for your own personal rig. It causes all sorts of problems.

This. x 1000.

When the band inevitably calls it quits (not being pessimistic, most bands don't last forever), then you're left A) without a rig or B ) having to shell out cash to buy out your bandmates. Buying individual rigs with band money is a terrible idea any way you look at it. I know many folks who have done it, and not one scenario ever ended well.

Yup - used G-K head and a good Peavey 215 is tough to beat on a budget...

+900. I did this.

That old, 70's Peavey 215? PERFECT for punk. You can make it awesome for about $4.50. Get a rattle can of Krylon. Paint the cones thick, but not enough to make the paint run. I used wrought iron black for mine but you can use any punky color you want. Day-glo hunter orange might turn a few heads. Wait until tomorrow for it to dry. They go from turd to kevlar when the paint's completely cured.

It made a huge difference for me and made that $175 I spent on a blah cabinet totally worthwhile.

I also had a GK 800RB. It'll work and you can play for 300 people with it and that cab, but seriously I think you can do better with the remaining $220.
