Help! need to identify strings...

Hi folks,

I am hoping that someone out there in bass world can help. I bought a bass (MIM P) and would like to identify the strings that are on it. Previous owner had no idea what they were anymore (...so they may be original). In case I mess up the pics: strings are rounds/black wrap on both ends with all gold ends.

I really appreciate any advice.

Those look like Dunlop Flats.

EDIT: Sorry I'll take it back. A closer look tells me they're actually not flats. Could be the older version of GHS Pressurewounds, which used to come with black silk at both ends, while new ones only come with black silk at the tuner end.

Those look like the old Fender 7250 nickel rounds. Before 2010, they had black silk on both ends, with gold balls, and they came on the MIM basses IIRC.

Right! Why didn't I think of this? "Fender Nickel Rounds" actually makes more sense, doesn't it?

I can confirm, they are the old Fender 7250ML, black silk on both sides!

Thank you - those are prob the original strings then. Wow! They don't sound / feel that old... wouldn't have guessed that.
