HELP! New Ibanez bass setup, E String Buzzing

Hi all, I just set up my new Ibanez GSR100BKL, a left handed Ibanez. It has one Music Man style pickup and a tone and volume. Very simple but very nice easy to play bass.

I play the bass left handed, but the strings are strung right handed. In other words, I learned on a right handed bass/and guitar and never switched the strings.

I put in the new Ibanez OEM right handed nut and restrung with new medium gauge Elixer bass strings. Now the F note, first fret on the E string buzzes. I' turned the truss a bit, raised and lowered the string, but still a slight buzz.

When you say "turned the truss rod" do you mean loosened it, tightened it...? Why did you turn it?

Did you reverse the nut?

When one gets string buzz, don't go turning the truss rod first.
