Help on choosing an amp please

Hello everyone! My name is José and I'm from Argentina. The reason for this thread is that I can't make up my mind on wich amp should I get. In my band we play a mixture of 70's rock, funk and reggae. I have a Daniel Fernandez 6 strings Headless bass and was hoping you guys could give me some advice on this. I was trying to decide between an early 90's Ampeg SVT-II and an Eden WT-800.

Please feel free to coment. If you have any other amp in mind that you think would be better for the style of music I play please let me know and it would be taken in consideration.

Thanks for your help!

PD: Any cab suggestion would help too!

Markbass LMIII, Aguilar TH500 are some i have used amp wise.

Looking at the Bergantino CN212 (2x12" cab). Of course there are hundreds of different combos. What sort of wattage do you need? Do you require a lightweight rig, information like this will help people like KJ (amp wizard) suggest stuff better suited for your needs!

Happy hunting!

Both systems you named are good quality. Playing 70s music as you stated tends to tip the scales for the Ampeg rig if it was me. The Ampeg is a solid workhouse that is legendary for its ability to take deliver. Its heavy and takes up space, and there are many systems more advanced but I love mine. Nothing else sounds as good to my ears. I've had the same 70s cab since the early 80s. It still sounds as good as the day I picked it up.

Hey Conono,
Of course a 4x10 pro neo from Ampeg would be great, and they are so light!!! BUT...if you can FIND and then combine a couple of cabs to get a 15 or an 18 in the mix, then you are talking...especially for the reggae. Depending on the bass you have though, you can just pump up the BASS for the reggae. I play Spectors, so they can be dialed in for many different tones. But depending on what you have...
See if you can find one of those old cabinets with the 4x10s and the one 15 in the middle. IF you can find it.
Otherwise, here is what I have found: once you get a GREAT sounding BASS...you can plug it into most amps and you can get a pretty good sound. I take my Spector to any amp, and it still makes me happy. If I take a crappy bass to any amp, I can really hear how bad it is. Start with something good and the amp will be a cherry on top. You already are going with the SVT (good choice! ..I hope you make that choice) , so you can't go wrong. What kind of bass are you playing?

Thanks for your reply nicki! I'm currently using a Daniel Fernandez 6 strings headless like this one [Invalid or Expired Link Removed].
It has Kent Armstrong custom pickups and a special preamp made by Mariano Maese in buenos aires.

Get an ACME Flat cab (12" super sub) with an ACME Full Range cab (12" super 3-way) and power them in Dual-Mono (or bi-amp) mode with a Carvin BX1500 (450w rms x 2) and call it a day.
