Help please. I love the telecaster style!

Hello my friends! First post.

I need some help putting together a bass who will look like a telecaster style bass. The thought was to buy the body from Warmoth.

But the thing is, I just want the looks of the tele but the sound(pickup system) of a new deluxe precision bass.
And the dream is to have the finish of this guitar on my bass:

But I must say I know little about building instruments so it`s more about buying the right parts.
I have a friend who is skilled in electronics who can help me with that.
And I`m gonna pay someone else to put the neck on the bass etc.

So what neck do I have to buy? And would a short scale fit on the body? And where do I buy the precision pickups? Where would it be possible to get that finish?

Well, this is a long time ago.
I have not come around to build this bass. But I have now decided that I will finally do it. Or more correctly, pay some pros to do it.

The thing is. I have to buy the parts.
And I`m currently touring, so I dont have to much time on the internet.
I dont know if this is written about before. I have tried searching for some hours but the thing I wonder about is what body I should buy?

These are the two options I have on the body. I really dont know any pro cons about these so I hope someone can help me.

I want to buy the neck from USACG since their lighter.

Hi JS,

Either Warmoth or USACG can set you up with the proper neck, body, and body routes, for your Tele bass.

I used USACG to build mine. They do good work.

You just have to tell them what it is you want.

the CustomTBass link has a standard looking eliptical neck pocket heel - this should be good for a USACG neck

the bigtbass has a square styled neck pocket heel - I'm not certain that USACG has a neck to fit this neck pocket
