Help reading a diagram

I don't understand what this diagram is saying about the ground from the jack.

It looks like it's saying solder it to the hot wire. That can't be right.

Can anyone tell me what it's saying?

The sleeve terminal of the jack goes to any ground point in the circuit.

Looks like this diagram is done for wires that have the woven shield exposed. The shield/ground for the output jack wire should not be soldered to the inner conductor. It looks like there is a terminal strip with two terminals. One is ground. The other is hot and where the output of the pots make connection to the output wire. The ground terminal probably has a leg that goes down and is attached to a metal plate, or something, that is the common ground for all the pot bodies.
