I have steamed out similar with a wet paper towel and a soldering iron. I think I remember the neck on the Metro Express in roasted maple? If so, you may not be able to steam those out.

Thanks Pete! Hope all is well!Dude…my heart goes out to you. A hit like that is saddening, but can be addressed by the above instructions. Let us know how it turns out.
It is indeed roasted maple.I have steamed out similar with a wet paper towel and a soldering iron. I think I remember the neck on the Metro Express in roasted maple? If so, you may not be able to steam those out.
Roasted maple is hydrophobic, meaning it repels water and that makes it great for stability during humidity changes or for boat building which was its intended first use by the vikings. Or at least they are credited with the invention. That could make the steaming process difficult as the fingerboard wood will repel the steam. It is indeed roasted maple.
Sorry to bother you - but of all the upgrades you put into your bass, which ones made the biggest improvement? Thanks everyone. It upsets me ( with myself). I heavily modded this bass. Installed Hipshot Tuners and Extended (Drop D ) tuner. Added VTC, and the Sadowsky noiseless pickups. Eventually wanted to put Hipshot Style A bridge in. It sucks because I take care of my gear. But these stands suck. Back to Hercules!
No bother at all.Sorry to bother you - but of all the upgrades you put into your bass, which ones made the biggest improvement?
Been a MONO gig bag guy for 15 -20 years. Even the MONO Stealth line is good. I still have my original MONO bag from 20 yrs ago and its still in great shape. Access bags are great as well.I'd leave it alone and let natural wear do its thing. Don't skimp on guitar stands or gigbags. The Hercules stands work well. I'm not about to put an expensive instrument on a POS OnStage guitar stand.
Yep... I'm a big Access gigbag fan. Have several.Been a MONO gig bag guy for 15 -20 years. Even the MONO Stealth line is good. I still have my original MONO bag from 20 yrs ago and its still in great shape. Access bags are great as well.
It is in a spot that you will never feel under your fingers. Assuming it makes no difference to playability in that no frets were damaged or dislodged, my personal choice would be to leave well alone. It was sickeinging at the time, and it tool a few weeks to reconcile the 'No Further Action' decision, but my Corvette came off the stand a few years back and landed face down on top of a pint glass - all of the damage is between the strings in places that I can't feel and that don't interfere with anything, so the holes are still there (although I have removed the lump of glass and replaced the damaged strings) :Leave it alone?
