Help to tab a solo bass performance..!

This performance of 'Just the two of us', entirely played with the bass and a loop pedal, is something I'd absolutely love to learn:


I'm getting the RC-2 Loop Station this thursday, so want to try to play along to this, a really really great tune. Having some trouble with the chords riff in the beginning (from 0:33 to 0:55)... Can anybody help me tab them out?

Oh, and on the same note... I'd like to improvise aswell on this, but the only scale I know how to play off of is F (that fits in the song...) I haven't gotten much technical training.. What other scales could I improvise to, because it seems like he's not at all on the major scale.. :/

Can't you just look at his hands? The neck is on screen the whole time, isn't it?

Since you can hear what he's playing AND SEE what he's doing. Maybe you could go about it the old fashioned way and just go slow and play it over and over. Instead of expecting that someone else to do the work for you.

Instant gratification?

Who wants to gain all of the skill sets that went into that composition and performance?
