Help! Trying to figure out apogee jam

So I've been messing around with an apogee jam in garage band, and I can't get any sound that I like. Everything sounds like garbage!! I'm using a mim jazz and American 77 pbass, but I can't find anything good. And yes, I'm using the internal Mac book speakers to edit, because I want to post bass covers on YouTube and I know that that's what most people use to listen to videos. Also I e been trying some different pedal combinations. Here's what I'm working with.

Thanks!!

I'm not really a fan of the models in Garage Band.

First things first, start simple and ditch your pedalboard for the time being. Plug your bass straight into the interface. Use some decent headphones and not the internal speakers. I understand why you're doing it, but you're not doing yourself any favors :) Then open up GB and find the amps, then start tweaking until you find something you like.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try it with a raw signal.

You really need to be asking yourself what software to use. That's where you're going to get your tone/sounds from.

The Apogee Jam is just the medium in which your analog bass signal gets converted to a digital signal to be used by your computer. It's a very good interface for the price too. Virtually any software that works on your Mac is going to work with the Jam.
