HELP! Upped OLP or Schecter 004

I found both of these guys on craigslist, both $250. Im leaning towards the 004 because I play a little heavier music. But the OLP has been "upgraded" with stingray double humbuckers, new bridge, hardware, electronics, nut, and pegs. "Ferrules were placed and Ken Smith through the body strings put on it". So what do you guys think? Im a bit torn

That OLP is a lot like mine! I HIGHLY recommend it! A stock OLP is really a nasty sounding bass, but someone has done all the mods for you! The construction of mine is just amazing (apart from the bad (and replaced) electronics.) Once modded it does an absolutely terrific Stingray imitation! (compare to price of "real" stingray!)

Schecters on the other hand have never done it for me. I play them in the stores and they are absolutely GORGEOUS basses, but the tone never floats my boat. But you have to judge that for yourself.

To me you need to PLAY both these basses! A stingray tone is odd enough not everyone goes for it and like me some don't dig the Schecter tone either. But YOUR opinion is the only one that counts.

If it were me, these basses are so different that I'd buy them BOTH! Rule: you can never own too many basses! ;)
